Exodus 16:33-36 King James Version (KJV)
33 And Moses said unto Aaron, Take a pot, and put an omer full of manna therein, and lay it up before the LORD, to be kept for your generations.
34 As the LORD commanded Moses, so Aaron laid it up before the Testimony, to be kept.
35 And the children of Israel did eat manna forty years, until they came to a land inhabited; they did eat manna, until they came unto the borders of the land of Canaan.
36 Now an omer is the tenth part of an ephah.
Exodus 16:33-36 New Century Version (NCV)
33 Moses told Aaron, “Take a jar and fill it with two quarts of manna. Then place it before the LORD, and save it for your descendants.” 34 So Aaron did what the LORD had commanded Moses. He put the jar of manna in front of the Agreement to keep it safe. 35 The Israelites ate manna for forty years, until they came to the land where they settled—the edge of the land of Canaan. 36 The measure they used for the manna was two quarts, or one-tenth of an ephah.

33 This was to be the reminder of what God did by being the provider and also to let them know that when all seems hopeless God provides.
34 We should have such reminders in our life to remind us of who He is and remind us that He has control and will work things out, if we don’t then we need to look to Him for these because they are often needed in times of doubt.
35 God provided for them until they could provide for themselves at which point God would bless their land so that they would have plenty of food. God allows us often times to do for ourselves but its Him who enables us to have our needs, so we are to praise Him.
36 This may have been what each family ate daily. I personally believe those who seeked to gather the manna got their fill because with seeking God He never leaves us wanting more but gives us a fill and just keeps drawing us closer to Him.
