Exodus 18:5-6 King James Version (KJV)
5 And Jethro, Moses' father in law, came with his sons and his wife unto Moses into the wilderness, where he encamped at the mount of God:
6 And he said unto Moses, I thy father in law Jethro am come unto thee, and thy wife, and her two sons with her.
Exodus 18:5-6 New Century Version (NCV)
5 So Jethro, Moses’ father-in-law, took Moses’ wife and his two sons and went to Moses. He was camped in the desert near the mountain of God. 6 Jethro had sent a message ahead to Moses that said, “I, Jethro, your father-in-law, am coming to you with your wife and her two sons.”

These are my thoughts, please share yours.
5 Moses family was staying with their father and grand father while Moses was in Egypt, this isn’t certain why because God would have protected them if they were there but sometimes God wants us to do things as individuals.
6 So Moses got one that his family was being brought back to him, this would have made Moses feel happy. God feels much greater joy then this when a child of His comes back or when someone comes to faith in Him from their sin.
