Exodus 16:31-32 King James Version (KJV)
31 And the house of Israel called the name thereof Manna: and it was like coriander seed, white; and the taste of it was like wafers made with honey.
32 And Moses said, This is the thing which the LORD commandeth, Fill an omer of it to be kept for your generations; that they may see the bread wherewith I have fed you in the wilderness, when I brought you forth from the land of Egypt.
Exodus 16:31-32 New Century Version (NCV)
31 The people of Israel called the food manna. It was like small white seeds and tasted like wafers made with honey.
32 Then Moses said, “The LORD said, ‘Save two quarts of this food for your descendants. Then they can see the food I gave you to eat in the desert when I brought you out of Egypt.’”

These are my thoughts, please share yours.
31 The people named it and we see the description here of how it looked and tasted. Manna means what is it,
32 This would be put into the ark to show what the Lord had done, even though no one opened the ark this would be in it. The later generation may have doubted that they were ever in Egypt but this was to answer there doubts.
